Our first team squad recruitment has been given a massive boost with some of our leading sponsors forming an independent group (Blue and White Knights) aimed at providing additional funds for the playing budget through direct investment and support of large events.
This should allow us to increase the size of our proposed squad, but we will also be backed up by up-and-coming talent from our Furness Raiders development side and there is still a possibility of a link-up with a Super League side.
We think it is important that the pathway from the Furness Raiders continues to provide talent to the first team, and we have been rewarded in the recent past with the emergence of the likes of Ryan Johnston and Charlie Emslie, who are now established first team stars – the former even captaining the Raiders on occasion last season.
