Barrow Raiders would like to thank K-Sport, who have become official Ladies sponsors ahead of the club’s inaugural season in the Betfred Women’s Super League.

K-Sport, one of the UK’s leading online retailers for home-gym equipment, will have their logo emblazoned across the front of Barrow Ladies’ home and away shirts throughout the 2022 season.

The Raiders Ladies recently recorded their first competitive victory under new head coach Amanda Wilkinson in the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup group stages, defeating the Army 38-0 at the Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium.

Having been knocked out of the competition, they will next be in action at the recently-announced Women’s Nines competition, which takes place on Sunday 1 May.

Wilkinson’s side will then kick off their league campaign at home to Warrington Wolves on Sunday 15 May.

Club chairman Steve Neale said: “Barrow Raiders are delighted that K-Sport have become the main sponsors of our Ladies Super League team.

LADIES NEWS: 2022 fixtures confirmed

“We see the profile of ladies rugby league rising exponentially with the possibility of further television exposure, and we hope that K-Sport benefits with their brand flourishing in the UK.

“We look forward to inviting their representatives to a game in the near future so they can sample the atmosphere at the Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium and see first-hand all the good that their sponsorship has brought to the club.”

Matthew Gerrard, K-Sport marketing director, said: “When we were looking at potential sponsors and partners for us to work with in 2022, our main goal was to find an organisation we could work with that would be both a strong ambassador for our brand and also that would meet our own high expectations, and help us to push forward.

“Barrow Raiders Ladies exemplify this spirit and attitude. Following a tremendous 2021 campaign, we were very eager to come on board and join the team on their journey to greater success in 2022.”
