In addition to the fantastic work that our volunteers carry out you may have read in the Chairman’s weekly briefing of the work that we are aiming to carry out in the ground.

Despite no rugby last summer our beer garden proved to be huge hit as we diversified and made full use of our open-air venue. We saw the success of our beer garden and repeating that could provide revenue to improve our facilities and improve the team. It is so important that we bring in enough money to match our ambitions.

We have made the bold decision to remove the section of terracing to the right of the grandstand, completely flatten it and erect a permanent marquee venue.

We feel that the marquee will provide lots of opportunity. We could utilise it for functions, a pre-match VIP area, our own venue for sponsors evening, sportsman’s dinners, presentation evenings etc.

In midweek it could be used to support our community programmes and with heating there is no reason why it couldn’t be used as a venue throughout the year. We are creating a venue that the club is sadly lacking, and the board are all excited about its potential.
