Leading car dealership Matt Johnson Prestige is today named as the new main club sponsor for Barrow Raiders.
The popular family-owned business – which sells a range of performance, sports and prestige cars across the UK – has committed to the Raiders for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
The new deal is in addition to the family-owned business’ existing commitments to the club as stadium and shirt sponsors.
Furness Park, who were previously main club sponsors, will continue to support the club by putting their sponsorship into the Advantage! Barrow Raiders Community Foundation and donating a new mini bus to the community team. They are also remaining on the shorts and grandstand at the ground.
Matt, who has been a fan of the club for many years, said: “I’m so pleased I am able to get even more behind the Raiders at such an exciting time in their development.
“The outstanding progression both on and off the field has been fantastic to see; as a fan and a local businessman, I’m really looking forward to being involved with the club on a deeper level.
“We’ll be following in the footsteps of Furness Park who we very much respect as fellow motor traders in the area.
“Next season is undoubtedly going to be an exciting one for the club, with the Men’s team promoted to the Championship and the Women’s team in Super League.
“We look forward to supporting the club over the next two years and to see how far we can go.”
Matt Johnson Prestige was established in 2018 and has quickly established itself as a leading retailer of prestige, sports and performance vehicles.
From their base in Abbey Road, Barrow-in-Furness, Matt and the team – Rob, June, Rudi, Luke and Connor – work with clients across the UK to help them find their dream cars.
Raiders Chairman, Steve Neale, said: “I’d like to give my personal thanks to Furness Park Motors who are stepping down after three years as the main club sponsor. I know they are still fans of the club and continue to support us.
“Matt Johnson steps into their shoes to complement his ground naming sponsorship and again I’d like to give personal thanks for his continued support.
“What he has given the club since I came onboard has been remarkable and it is sponsors like Matt who have allowed us to go forward at pace.
“I know he is a massive fan and we look forward to exciting times together on our return to the Championship.”
