Barrow Raiders’ five-match winning streak came to an end away at Betfred Championship league leaders Leigh Centurions.

The Raiders took the lead inside 10 minutes when Hakim Miloudi touched down under the posts, and the boot of Ryan Shaw made it 8-6 shortly before the half-hour mark after Kai O’Donnell had crashed over for the hosts to level the contest.

Ultimately, however, the Centurions’ pressure eventually told with two more tries before half-time, Edwin Ipape and Joe Mellor both crossing.

The second half saw Ed Chamberlain, Ipape, Mark Iaone, Krisnan Inu and James McDonnell put the game out of sight, before Paul Crarey’s side rallied with two tries in three minutes inside the final quarter.

Tee Ritson crossed in the corner for his ninth try in five matches, before Jarrod Sammut bagged a try of his own.

With the scoreline reading 46-20, the home side would have the last word as Aaron Smith got the better of the Raiders defence to bring up the half-century, with Inu’s conversion adding further gloss to the scoreline.
